Gender is in everything; everything has its Sacred Masculine and Sacred Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all planes. Here in the physical plane, the paradoxes of gender in the physical form are different and those physical differences cannot be reconciled. They must remain physically separate true to their original manifestation based on the Law of Polarity. Once you arrive into this world, your physical gender is set for the life of the body you inhabit.
Gender comes from the Latin root meaning to beget, to procreate, to generate, to create, or to produce. Gender in hermetics does not refer to the physical sex or a person’s male or female reproductive organs. “Sex” is just a manifestation of gender on our physical plane aka the plane of organic matter. Yet, gender on higher planes manifests itself in different ways. In hermeticism, the principle of gender allows us to understand and witness the operation of both sacred masculine and sacred feminine energies working together to form all things in existence – physical, mental, and spiritual.
We witness the dance of masculine and feminine energies in the creation of atoms, through the union of electrons or corpuscles. Though the union of positive and negative charges in conjuction with vibration, we get the manifestations of light, heat, electricity, magnetism, alteration, repulsion, chemical affinity and the reverse, and similar phenomena in the physical in our universe.
The sacred masculine energy is described as penetrative, assertive, progressive, conquesting, and actively directing inherent energy towards its sacred feminine counterpart. Sacred Feminine energy is described as receptive, sacred, treasured, protective, maintainer of traditions, honoring priority, and nourishing what is most essential to life. The masculine is linked with the will, while the feminine is related to receiving impressions from the masculine and conducts the work of generating new thoughts, concepts, ideas, including the work of the imagination. Together there is holistic creation between the sacred masculine and sacred feminine which is the basis of the expansion of our universe.
Without the sacred feminine, the sacred masculine will act without restraint, order, or reason, resulting in chaos. The sacred feminine without the sacred masculine would constantly reflect and fail to actually do anything, resulting in stagnation and complacency. Yet, with both masculine and feminine working together, we see thoughtful action, the power of the will and vision, combined with the creative force and careful thought to bring it into manifestation. This is reflected in physical form in families that aren’t corrupted by unnatural interference allowing them to holistically thrive when immersed in nature and natural pressures for expansion.
These ideas are present in Hinduism found in the Kundalini, which in Sanskrit means the coiled snake. In Hinduism, the Kundalini is the manifestation of the Shakti (Source of Creation, Power), or the divine feminine energy that is located at the base of the spine. This divine feminine power lives in everyone, yet remains dormant until it comes in contact with masculine energy. The masculine energy directs the shakti (power) up the spine and to the brain, sparking a spiritual rebirth.
We also see this in the Bible through the words of Solomon, found in the book of Proverbs. In the book of Proverbs, Solomon considers wisdom to be a feminine force who has been with God since the beginning, aiding God in the creation of the universe.
“The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;” – Proverbs 8: 22-30
Gender is the key to understanding how the human brain fully operates. The left hemisphere of the brain is known as the Masculine side of the brain which represents the Intellect. It is represented by the symbol of a triangle also known as the “blade”. The right hemisphere of the brain is known as the Feminine side of the brain which is represented by the latin term “genere” or “gence” meaning to create or generate. It is represented by an upside down triangle also known as the “womb or the chalice”.
The masculine side of the brain is the analytical, scientific, logical, mathematical side of the brain while the feminine side offers pattern recognition, big picture thinking, compassion, it is the creative side of the brain. Together they form “Intelligence” – Holistic Intelligence is when you are using both sides of the brain in balance which makes for a person who operates in the highest form of morality, offers grace and can love unconditionally.
Most of society has been duped into believing that you can only operate in one hemisphere of the brain being more dominant than the other and this has led to a society of imbalanced people behaving immorally. We must work with people to develop the weaker hemisphere of their brain so that they can operate with holistic intelligence and then more powerfully contribute towards their communities at large and benefit the future of humanity. People out of balance operate in the slave self. They are unable to operate responsibly with grace and unconditional love and they attract needless suffering and oppression as a side effect.
It is possible to develop the mind holistically and shed the slave self then walk into a more powerful and masterful life where you operate with complete responsibility, freedom, liberty and unconditional love for all of mankind. Work on developing your weaker side of the brain with mental exercises, by incorporating music lessons. Learning to play the piano requires you to use both hemispheres of the brain and both sides of your body physically. Learning to play the drums is another way to rebalance the brain. Mixing Art and Science has always been important for this specific reason. Doing puzzles physically and on paper also help develop a proper balance of both hemispheres of the brain as do most art projects like painting, sewing, knitting, carpentry, welding, glass blowing, forging metals, and the like.
The conscious state is the masculine state and the life experience and thoughts we think on this level are the seeds we plant in our sacred feminine subconscious. This is what gestates into our reality so be careful what you speak and write, listen to and watch. Remain guarded with your thoughts, because what is impressed onto the subconscious by our consciousness is what you will find manifesting in your life experience.
If you are watching television shows and movies and constantly lost in fantasy entertainment, it interferes with your own creative ideas and disrupts your focus on what you are seeking to manifest in reality. Your seeds that were planted into the subsconcious are now in competition with these fantasies that you believe you are temporarily entertaining yourself with, but you are actually distracting your desires from manifesting with delays or logjams due to the chaos and confusion you are allowing into your subconsciousness. You are throwing a lot of wrenches into your manifestations with this messy and irresponsible creation.
Listening to something while you are working on something else, looking at something else, is different than the imagery you focus upon with the sound on a screen. Be careful what imagery you allow into your time and space – especially the kind that affect your emotions. This is why horror movies, heavy dramas that involve loss or death, violence and death and any sexual imagery where harm is being caused to another is inappropriate for the subconscious.
Children are especially sensitive to this; not because of the moral impact of it, but the false imprints it forms on their subconscious that interferes with the things they manifest into their own lives. It is our moral obligation to guard the information they are exposed to as a result of knowing these immutable Laws of the Universe.
If there is something you wish to manifest, the more you talk about it, write about it, draw it, see pictures of it, plan for it, etc. expect it to come into fruition, then it will appear. It must manifest into your reality. It is Law. You have to believe in it, have faith it is coming in the same way that you plant a garden and water it each day to allow it to gestate into reality. You must be expecting your dreams to manifest into reality. If you operate in doubt, negative thoughts and worry, your dreams will never come true.
This is why writing your dreams, drawing or making vision boards, speaking your dreams into a mirror to yourself or out in nature will make your dreams become a reality much faster. I love to share all my dreams with all the trees, flowers, grasses and beasts in the forest. I tell them what I am working on and how I can see all the parts coming together until I can see them all falling into place. So do your “I AM” talks and have self empowering conversations while walking through nature. Joyfully share all your plans with every rock, flower, tree, the birds and bees and watch the energy of all those living forces support your imaginative expansion!
I can tell you that the most powerful way to manifest reality in my experience has been when my husband and I spend time focused on a dream we both have. If we have decided we want something and we focus our energy upon it, I cannot express to you how swiftly and perfectly the timing of our manifested reality comes together. The universe never fails to surprise and delight us with new ways of manifesting our goals when we focus our sacred masculine and sacred feminine energy on a project.
The occulted (hidden) belief is that to the alchemist, understanding the principle of gender is the final step of self-exploration and self-mastery. But there is yet an 8th principle still yet to master.
The principle of gender gives us the ability to discern our own mood, emotion, and action and bring our own sacred masculine and sacred feminine energy into balance. To the alchemist, bringing balance to his sacred masculine and sacred feminine energies is the path to God. However, there is still the final, 8th principle to master which will offer the key to unlocking the full potential of this manifesting power.

I actually am using one of Mark Passio’s slides from a talk he gives. I like this image because what you call the “all seeing eye” is also the “Eye of Providence”.
Spiritually and symbolically it represents the ability to see through illusions (Lies and Immorality) and allows one to see the Truth. We need to develop an understanding and see ourselves for who we really are. This is how I view it in this case.
